Diana Lemache was killed when the vehicle she was riding in crashed into a truck in foggy weather conditions on Wednesday.
A sad Christmas loomed for the family of a 26-year-old mom who was killed when her drunken and stoned boyfriend slammed into a truck.
“She was an amazing daughter and an amazing mother,” Diana Lamache’s mom, Mariana Arellana, told the Daily News Thursday. “She would light up a party. She will be deeply missed.”
Lamache was killed early Wednesday morning when her boyfriend, Eloy Perez, 27, sped down Vandevoort Ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, smashing into a tractor trailer that was pulling out of a parking lot.
Mariana Arellano (l.) is consoled by a friend on Thursday. Arellano’s 26-year-old daughter, Diana Lamache, was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a truck Wednesday. She was killed.
Arellana now has to care for Lamache’s 4-year-old daughter, Eliana.
A friend of the victim writes a note on a candle.
Friends wrote messages on candles and placed them outside the family’s home Thursday.
“She was the best,” Lamache’s cousin Diego Mejia said. “I’m completely devastated. Everybody’s in shock, because they can’t believe it.”
Lamache suffered severe head trauma, police said, and was rushed to Woodhull Hospital where attempts to save her were unsuccessful.
Perez, her boyfriend, was being held on $ 50,000 bail after being arraigned Wednesday night on manslaughter and other charges.
He, too, had been taken to Woodhull after the crash. His blood alcohol was 0.07%, enough for an impaired driving charge. A paramedic and a cop said he smelled of marijuana, according to the criminal complaint.
Neighbor Jeffrey Holden said Lamache moved back in with her parents when she got pregnant. The landlord allowed the family to partition the apartment’s single bedroom into two rooms for Eliana and her mom.
