A liberal arts college in Ohio has rescinded an honorary degree awarded comedian Bill Cosby in 2010.
Oberlin College in northern Ohio says the decision was made by the school’s board of trustees at a meeting Dec. 4. A statement from the university says actions admitted by Cosby are not reflective of the school’s commitment to supporting survivors of “sexualized violence.”

Cosby has never been criminally charged and denies allegations he had sex with women incapacitated by drugs he allegedly provided. In out-of-court testimony released earlier this year, however, Cosby acknowledged using quaaludes during consensual sexual encounters.

Several other schools across the country have also rescinded honorary degrees given to Cosby. Messages were left Wednesday for his attorney and his publicist.
