Cue the helicopter — and the tears.
The hit London production of “Miss Saigon” will land on Broadway in spring 2017 for a limited run through Jan. 15, 2018 in advance of a national tour.
Eva Noblezada, a 19-year-old from North Carolina, will reprise her role as the doomed Kim, as will Filipino-born Jon Jon Briones as her nemesis, The Engineer.
The original Tony-winning Broadway production, written by “Les Miz” creators Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, opened in 1991 and starred Lea Salonga and Jonathan Pryce — as well an elaborate special-effects helicopter.
Producer Cameron Mackintosh says “Miss Saigon” is more resonant now than in 1991.
The story, a knockoff of “Madama Butterfly, follows the relationship of an American G.I. and the young Asian woman he unknowingly gets pregnant and leaves behind when U.S. troops pull out.
“The tragic love story of the show has become even more relevant today with the conflicts in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq,” said producer Cameron Mackintosh.
