Donald Trump’s newly opened, luxury hotel in downtown Washington D.C. was defaced on Saturday with phrases often associated with social justice movements.
The words “Black Lives Matter” and “No Justice No Peace” were spray-painted on either side of the grand doors leading into the Trump International Hotel, which opened in mid-September.
Both phrases — often used by activists against police brutality and social injustice — were covered up with pieces of plywood by Sunday evening.
Over the course of his presidential campaign, Donald Trump has stood in opposition to the Black Lives Matter Movement, at one point claiming those involved in it are “looking for trouble.”
The Republican candidate has sided with law enforcement repeatedly amidst a string of police shootings and has aligned himself with the Blue Lives Matter Movement.

Police spokeswoman Aquita Brown said Sunday the incident occurred just after 4 p.m. Saturday. She added they have not yet identified any suspects.
The Trump Organization won a 60-year lease from the federal government to transform the historic Old Post Office building on Pennsylvania Avenue into The Trump International Hotel. Rooms at the luxury hotel start at just under $ 400 a night.
