Donald Trump again attacked the “worst” Miss Universe touted by Hillary Clinton’s campaign as the epitome of the businessman’s war on women, suggesting the Democrat helped the Venezuelan beauty get into the U.S. as a conniving election ploy.
“Wow, Crooked Hillary was duped and used by my worst Miss U. Hillary floated her as an “angel” without checking her past, which is terrible!” Trump tweeted early Friday, days after two-decade-old allegations that 1996 Miss Universe Alicia Machado was part of an attempted murder plot resurfaced.
Trump added: “Did Crooked Hillary help disgusting (check out sex tape and past) Alicia M become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in the debate?”

While court records indicate Machado was once charged as an accomplice to an attempted murder, allegations that she started in a sex tape cannot be confirmed.
Machado — who claims Trump nicknamed her “Miss Piggy” and publically humiliated her when she gained post-pageant weight — is a vocal Clinton supporter and has even starred in Internet ads for the former First Lady. She recently became a U.S. citizen, and has boasted online about how she intends to vote for Clinton in her first-ever U.S. election.
During Monday night’s debate, Clinton brought up Trump’s long history of sexism, using his treatment of Machado as a prime example of the danger he poses to women.
“One of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest — he loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them — and he called this woman ‘Miss Piggy,’ then he called her ‘Miss Housekeeping’ because she was Latina,” Clinton said on stage.

But soon after, questionable details about Machado’s post-pageant life resurfaced.
In 1998, two years after her crowning and the weight-gain, a then-21-year-old Machado was charged with driving the getaway car after her boyfriend tried to kill his brother in law.

The charges were quickly dropped due to a lack of evidence — but a month later the judge who dismissed the case claimed Machado had threated to kill him. It’s unclear if the alleged threat was ever investigated further, and Machado never faced any additional charges.
Additionally, critics have claimed Machado produced a sex tape in her post-Miss Universe years, although the existence of such footage cannot be verified.
She appeared on a “Big Brother”-like Spanish reality TV show in 2005, grainy night-vision footage appeared to show her briefly lying in bed with another contestant. She posed for Playboy a year later. Neither incident is a true sex tape.
Still, Trump blasted Clinton for bringing Machado into the campaign.
“Using Alicia M in the debate as a paragon of virtue just shows that Crooked Hillary suffers from BAD JUDGEMENT! Hillary was set up by a con,” trump tweeted Friday.
