Delta Airlines grounded all flights awaiting departure from airports internationally due to “network issues,” the airline said Monday.

Despite the outage, “flights enroute are operating normally,” officials at Delta said in a statement.

The airline did not say how many flights were affected but its help desk on Twitter responded to a flurry of worried social media users and blamed its delays on “a major system-wide network outage” that was impacting its website and unspecified applications.

The company said its IT systems were down everywhere and “hopefully it won’t be much longer.”

This is a developing story and will be updated.
