Chris Brown has pledged to donate $ 1 from every copy of “Royalty” sold between now and Christmas to a non-profit organization.
R&B star Chris Brown is feeling especially charitable this holiday season.
The “Run It” singer plans to donate $ 1 from every sale of his upcoming album “Royalty” between now and Christmas to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals organization, he announced on Instagram.
“The holidays are all about giving back,” Brown said in a video announcement. “So please do your part. Give back!”
Brown’s highly anticipated LP is set to be released on Dec. 18 — but he also pledged to donate $ 1 amount from all pre-ordered copies, which are available for purchase now.
The 26-year-old crooner’s new album is named after his 18-month-old daughter, Royalty, who he had with model and former girlfriend Naz Guzman. Last week, the singer unveiled the album artwork, which features a black-and-white snapshot of him holding his sleeping daughter against his chest.

The forthcoming studio album, which is Brown’s seventh, is comprised of 18-songs, including already released singles “Liquor” and “Zero.”
Brown will become the latest artist to donate proceeds from music sales to a charitable cause. Last year, Taylor Swift pledged all the earnings from her song “Welcome to New York” to public schools in the Big Apple. Then in August, Dr. Dre announced he was donating the royalties from his album, “Compton,” to build a community arts and entertainment center in Compton, Calif.
Brown’s announcement came shortly after he surprised fans by dropping a 34-track mixtape titled “Before the Party” on Friday. The unexpected playlist most notably included a new collaboration with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, with whom he has a well-documented, tumultuous past.
The new mixtape also features guest appearances by rappers Wiz Khalifa, Fetty Wap and Tyga, among others.
