Defending champions Tuggeranong are desperate to keep their ACT State League Netball dream alive in Friday night’s preliminary final.
Nicole Bowles’ outfit plays Canberra, with little to split the sides in 2016.
The teams drew 63-all in round three, with Tuggeranong edging out Canberra 74-67 in round seven.
Bowles was expecting another tight match at the Lyneham Netball Centre.
“There is nothing between the two teams, as shown with both games played this season, and we expect it to be the same on Friday night,” Bowles said.
“Both sides have experienced mid-court players and whoever can win that battle will go a long way to giving their side the upper-hand.”
Tuggeranong captain Michaley Phokos will miss the clash with a knee injury.
Canberra also have injury concerns, with Zoe Hassler (knee) unlikely to be ready for the game.
Hassler’s likely absence is major blow for Canberra coach Tara Steel, but she had “full confidence whoever we put on the court will do a job for us”.
“We are really looking forward to the contest against Tuggeranong, who have been the form team of the competition the past two years,” Steel said.
The winner meets Arawang in next weekend’s grand final.
