Brian Johnson told Jim Breuer that AC/DC already has a new singer.
What a dirty deed.
AC/DC split with Brian Johnson, their lead singer of 36 years, last week because of hearing problems that could cause the Australian to have “total hearing loss.”
But Johnson sang comedian and close friend Jim Breuer a different tune.
On the most recent episode of his podcast “The Metal in Me,” Breuer recounted a recent conversation he had with the singer, highlighted by Johnson explaining he was “kicked to the curb” by AC/DC.
“He (Johnson) said that he called and let them know, ‘Hey this is what the doctor said, but let’s try to figure this out. Let’s see what’s going on here, I don’t think it’s as bad as he said it is.’ Literally the next day in the press, it was ‘Brian Johnson, tour canceled, he’s losing his hearing,’” Breuer said.
Jim Breuer said that nobody from AC/DC has contacted Brian Johnson since they parted ways.
Since the band cancelled a string of tour dates, Breuer said that nobody from AC/DC has contacted Johnson to ask how he is feeling and that all of the singer’s touring luggage was shipped back to his house.
“There’s been no calls. No, ‘How’s your hearing? How’s your health? What’s going on?’ Boom. Here’s your s–t, nice to know you,” Breuer said.
Johnson also told the comedian AC/DC has already replaced him and that, despite nearly four decades of service to the rockers (after replacing original singer Bon Scott), he never fully felt like a member of the band.
