Madonna has reportedly been called out by city officials for posting “No Parking” signs outside her townhouse on East 81st St.
“Bitch, I’m Madonna” just took on a whole new meaning.
The famed singer is in hot water after her minions “concocted a scheme” to steal public parking spaces in front of Madonna’s Upper East Side pad, TMZ reported.
The celebrity website said a neighbor ratted out the “Like a Virgin” singer for posting “Tenant Parking Only” signs in front of her home, embossing “No Parking” into the cement sidewalk and even painting the curb yellow — which translated from New Yorkese into English means, “Don’t even think of parking here.”
The TMZ report claimed the city Department of Transportation visited the site on Wednesday and demanded changes. It is unclear if they have been implemented. But it is also unclear if the “No parking” signs are new. The E. 81st St. townhouse had two garages and corresponding curb cuts before Her Madgesty bought it for $ 32 million in 2009.
Madonna capped her “Rebel Heart” tour on Sunday in Sydney, Australia. She is also embroiled in a custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie over their son, Rocco.
Rebel heart or rebel parker? Madonna is under fire for stealing the ultimate New York City commodity.
Reps for the singer or the city could not be immediately reached.
It’s not the first time a greedy star has been accused of stealing that ultimate New York commodity.
In 2011, Will Smith was forced to move his mega-trailers from a Soho street after neighbors complained about the “Men in Black 3” shooting.
And swiped parking is especially an issue in car-friendly Los Angeles, where James Franco was accused in 2013 of hoarding spaces in front of his Silver Lake compound.
