The daughter of NFL Hall of Famer Junior Seau posted an emotional remembrance to social media on Tuesday, which would’ve been her father’s 47th birthday.
“Today you would be turning 47 and I would be making old man jokes,” Sydney Seau tweeted and posted on her Instagram page. “Happy birthday dad, I love you forever and always.”
Junior Seau’s daughter Sydney Seau poses with her father’s bust during the NFL Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium on August 8, 2015 in Canton, Ohio.
In August of 2015, Sydney Seau spoke at her dad’s posthumous induction into the NFL Hall of Fame.
However, because of an NFL policy that began in 2010, she was not able the give her full speech.
Junior’s three sons, along with Sydney, were allowed to unveil their father’s bust in Canton.
Sydney Seau is outspoken about CTE, the disease that allegedly led to her father’s 2012 suicide.
She does not tweet frequently, but some of Sydney’s most recent posts are about investigative reports on CTE among active and retired NFL players as well as the movie “Concussion.”
